Build Points (BP) are an abstract measure of resources that can be used to improve the attributes or to upgrade the structure of the tavern. BPs are gained through adventuring (looting) or as payment for jobs. BPs represent various resources that can differ in value for the same amount or quantity. BPs can represent both materials or services provided by others.
Example:
1000 gp of hay vs. 1000 gp of iron. Both cost the same gp, but iron is more BP because it is more useful for building and maintaining the tavern.
When BPs are acquired, they tracked in the 'Escrow' pool.
When BPs are spent on attributes or structures, they are moved from the Escrow pool to the 'Equity' pool. Once BPs are spent and added to the Equity pool, they cannot be used for anything else.
Your tavern's 'experience level'. Valuation is based on you tavern's structure attributes (ie Entertainment, Facilities, Provisions, & Services). Build Points (BP) from the Escrow pool can be spent to build structures or increase attributes, which then will increase the valuation.

Taverns have attributes which are used to measure specific characteristics that describe the tavern:
Entertainment - the tavern's ability to provide recreational activities for its customers.
Facilities - the quality of the tavern's buildings, equipment, furniture, artfork, and other architecture or decor.
Provisions - the tavern's ability to provide basic items for its customers.
Services - the tavern's ability to provide basic amenities or accommodations for its customers.
Influence is the ability for the owners of the tavern to impact the behaviors and attitudes of society in the vicinity. This is represented by a modifier, which is affected by the Reputation of the tavern.
The tavern's Reputation is measured in Reputation Points (RP). A tavern gains or loses RP by doing favors or suffering disservice as described in the GM Core rulebook, pages 200-201.
BPs may be spent on tavern upgrades to increase attributes and structure, which will increase the tavern's Valuation. Some examples of upgrades as shown in the table below:
